Dr. Humphreys is a Professor of Medicine and Developmental Biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.  He received a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and MD and PhD degrees from Case Western Reserve University. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in Nephrology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.  He is the recipient of the National Kidney Foundation Young Investigator Award, the American Society of Nephrology Gottschalk Research Scholar Award and the American Heart Association Established Investigator Award and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation.  He investigates kidney repair in order to translate this knowledge into therapies for patients with kidney disease.
